NNPS Samplers

Research and Involvement Activities
on Goals for Student Success

NNPS is unique in that its research informs tools and guidelines for practitioners. At the same time, practitioners’ work and questions inform research studies. This marriage of research with practice encourages members of NNPS to design activities that will address important goals for student success.

The activities illustrate how to engage diverse families and many community partners at all grade levels using the six types of involvement in the NNPS framework: parenting, communicating, volunteering, learning at home, decision making, and collaborating with the community. The field-tested activities may be used or adapted by school’ Action Teams for Partnerships (ATPs) and by district leaders to strengthen their programs of family and community involvement.
