Martha Abele Mac Iver is Associate Research Scientist at the Center for Social Organization of Schools at Johns Hopkins University. She received her B.A. in European Studies at Michigan State University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Michigan.

Her current research includes evaluations of whole school reform programs, school-to-work programs in high schools, and systemic change in urban school districts. She has recently made the transition into the study of educational reform and educational policy after more than a decade of research on the political transformation of Europe, and has a special interest in comparing the process of privatization in these two spheres. Dr. Mac Iver has authored many reports and journal articles on European politics and the conflict in Northern Ireland, and has published several articles on educational reform issues.
