Sam
Stringfield, PhD (Editor)
Sam Stringfield is a Principal Research Scientist at the Johns Hopkins
University Center for the Social Organization of Schools (CSOS).
He serves as co-director of the Systemic Supports for School Improvement
section of the Center for Research on Education of Students Placed
At Risk (CRESPAR). Stringfield is also co-director of the Program
on Integrated Reform at the University of California at Santa Cruz'
Center for Research on Education, Diversity and Excellence (CREDE).
He is a founding co-editor of the Journal of Education for Students
Placed At Risk (JESPAR), and a member of the City of
Baltimore's New Board of School Commissioners. More

Hewes is an Associate Research Scientist at the Center for Social
Organization of Schools at Johns Hopkins University, working with
the Systemic Supports for School Reform research group. She received
her B.A. from Yale University in Psychology, and recently finished
her Ph.D. in Sociology at Harvard University. More

Abele Mac Iver, PhD (Associate Editor) Martha Mac Iver
is an Associate Research Scientist at the Center for Social Organization
of Schools at Johns Hopkins University. Her current research includes
evaluations of whole school reform programs, school-to-work programs
in high schools, and systemic change in urban school districts.

Ewart Sundell, PhD (Managing Editor)
Kirsten Sundell is managing editor of JESPAR and a
qualitative research assistant for Program 4 (Systemic Supports
for School Reform) at the CSOS at Johns Hopkins University. She
holds an MA and a PhD in English (Irish Studies) from the University
