Hmong New Year Community CelebrationComo Park Elementary St. Paul, Minnesota In our ever-changing world, schools increasingly need to adapt to new students and new cultures. Como Park Elementary School decided to go beyond accepting the changes they face and embrace them. For the past three years, Como Park has built a strong sense of community for all staff, students, and their families by hosting a Hmong New Year Community Celebration each December. The children perform Hmong songs, dances, and a play, after which everyone enjoys traditional foods shared by families representing their cultures. Intergenerational Drumming and DancingBennett Park Montessori School #32 Buffalo, New York The loud noises echoing through the halls of Bennett Park Montessori School on Tuesday nights did not come from unruly students. They were the sounds of African drums and feet keeping time to the beat.
