Robots, foam gliders and a Mad Scientist were all part of the fun at Science Spectacular at Leaphart Elementary. Building on the success of an earlier literacy night, the Action Team for Partnerships (ATP) decided to try a science night to make science more interesting and attractive to Leaphart students. TV, hot dogs and the weather proved to be a winning combination at Northwoods Elementary School. More than 300 people showed up on a May evening when the school and a local television station turned an open house into an event to increase parent involvement in science and to strengthen school, family and community partnerships.
